HI! Now I’m finally going to introduce to you all the face of my blog, the girl in my profile picture, and the featured photo on my blog about myself, which you can read hereHer name is Doma Umaru from Himouto! Umaru-chan. The reason why her face is usually used in anime related pages or blogs, is because she is the role model of almost every otaku girl and many of us can relate to her. But, she’s not exactly that relatable considering the fact that she’s just way too perfect.

Here’s the synopsis:

Umaru is the girl that everyone adores and looks up to. She’s pretty, smart, talented, friendly, kind, and everything nice. Yep, she’s a perfect teenager girl… or so everyone in the world thought, except for her onii-chan, Doma Taihei. He’s the only one who knows what Umaru is really like. The perfect face she shows to everyone else is not what she actually is because the moment she enters their home, she completely changes. From a kind and helpful girl to a childish lazy bum who complains about almost everything. Along with her personality, her appearance also changes. From the pretty girl with a beautiful figure to a cute toddler  who always wears a hamster hoodie. Inside her home, she drinks cola, eat chips, watch anime, read manga, and play games. Just a typical otaku, which is in contrast with her personality when she’s outside. She is someone who looks like she would always study and is really healthy. Whenever she’s with her friend, Sylphynford Tachibana, she has another identity. This anime is all about the daily life of Umaru, Taihei, and their friends that they met in school and work.

It is one of those anime series that I would not forget about, but I don’t really remember what happened anymore (I know it sounds confusing lol). What I’m trying to say is that I know what the anime is all about, it is one of those that left a mark in my life, though I don’t really know why. But, I don’t remember the exact scenes that happened in the story. The plot is not really that strong so as long as you know the characters, you can skip an episode and still understand what is going on. I’m not saying that you should because I think that watching every episode will be worth it. There are no big problems or conflicts in the story so my emotions weren’t really affected that much, but there are scenes that warmed my heart.

Himouto! Umaru-chan is a really cute anime with cute characters. I did laugh so I guess it was funny. You don’t have to trust my twisted sense of humor, but believe me when I say that this will at least make you chuckle, even just a little bit… I think. I guess at some point of my life, Umaru inspired me to actually act a bit better than usual when I’m outside. Of course I know she is beyond my reach. Well, she is in an anime series and a lot of things there will never happen in real life. For example, her physical appearance. Oh boi she’s gorgeous! She has a beautiful figure despite the fact that she does not even exercise, or at least move around and help out her onii-chan, and she chugs cola and stuffs her face with potato chips and junk food almost every day. She has a clear, soft, and beautiful skin even if she always stays up late and probably does not have a skin care routine. She’s on the top of her class even if she rarely studies. Most of all, her sibling is so patient, which is a rare thing in real life lol. Her older brother is a smart, responsible, kind, and understanding guy. He may look plain and average, but he’s definitely in the top 10 kindest anime onii-chans. Overall, Himouto! Umaru-chan is an anime that a lot of anime fans have watched, so watching it would be worth it. The season 2 is already out, and it’s pretty good too, but that will be discussed in a different post.

Favorite Character: Doma Umaru (She may act differently outside, but she’s genuinely kind, humble, and cute. Her indoor version is a soft cutie too.)

Tell me who’s your favorite character in the comments section below.

8/10. It made me realize that despite everything that’s happening in my life, I still have my right to chill and enjoy myself, in whatever way I want.
